Bougie Foodie is operated by 4Shore LLC ("we", "us", or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the Bougie Foodie mobile application.

Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

• Location data — We collect your device's GPS location to show nearby restaurants and to send geofenced notifications when you are near a chain with a secret menu hack. Location is collected while the app is in use and, if you enable Secret Menu Alerts, in the background.
• Device identifier — We use a device ID to manage your saved spots, rate limits, and app preferences. This is not linked to your name or email address.
• Usage data — We collect information about how you use the app, including search queries and features accessed, to improve the product.
• Purchase information — If you subscribe to Bougie PRO, subscription and purchase data is processed by Apple and RevenueCat. We do not store your payment information.

How We Use Your Information

• To provide restaurant recommendations based on your location
• To send push notifications when you are near a chain with a relevant secret menu hack (only if you enable this feature)
• To save your bookmarked restaurants
• To enforce rate limits on AI search and prevent abuse
• To improve the accuracy and quality of our AI recommendations

Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the following service providers who help operate the app:

• Google Places API — used to find and verify restaurant information
• Supabase — used to cache restaurant data and store bookmarks
• Apple — processes in-app purchases and manages subscription billing
• RevenueCat — used to manage subscriptions and in-app purchases
• Google (Gemini) — used to power AI restaurant recommendations. Search queries are sent to Gemini to generate responses.
• Replicate — used to generate food photography for secret menu hacks

Location Data

Location access is used to show you restaurants near your current position. Background location is only used if you enable Secret Menu Alerts in your Profile settings. You can revoke location access at any time in your device settings. Disabling location will limit restaurant discovery features.

Data Retention

We retain cached restaurant data for up to 7 days. Bookmarks and preferences are stored until you delete them or uninstall the app. AI-generated images are stored permanently to avoid repeated generation costs.

Your Rights

You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us at the email below. Since we use a device ID rather than an account system, uninstalling the app removes your local preferences. Contact us to request removal of any server-side data associated with your device.

Children's Privacy

Bougie Foodie is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the date at the top of this page.
